Job summary

Jackson State University invites applications for the Facilities Maint Repairer II to support athletic department operations and stadium maintenance. The role covers grooming fields, equipment repair, chemical treatments, and game-day preparations as part of a dynamic facilities team.

Under the Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations & Stadium Management, you will ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained venues for events, including field prep, lighting, and restroom/concourse upkeep

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
At least 3 years of grounds/maintenance experience.
Experience with field preparation for events and stadium maintenance.

Responsibilities

Maintain athletics fields (mowing, weed-eating, and other maintenance).
Perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, buildings, and grounds.
Apply chemical treatments for fields and grounds at stadium and campus.
Prepare football field for each game per NCAA regulations.
Manage traffic flow and security barriers on event days.
Winterize facilities and perform preventive maintenance after football season.
Maintain lights and fixtures throughout the stadium.
Prepare facilities and supervise maintenance of restrooms, ticket booths, and concourse.
Set up and remove athletics equipment after events.
Assist with line marking, watering, and grooming fields and facilities.
Maintain inventory of outdoor materials, supplies, equipment, and grounds vehicles.
