Job summary

Jackson State Community College is seeking a Grounds Worker for a full-time role to maintain and improve campus grounds, landscaping, streets, and walks. The position reports to the Grounds Manager or designee and involves operating commercial lawn equipment and performing various duties to keep the campus safe and attractive.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years’ experience; preferred is prior grounds maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience in grounds or related field.
• Experience with grounds maintenance and landscaping.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus grounds including mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, cleaning, and debris removal.
• Operate commercial equipment such as mowers, tractors, backhoe, and forklift.
• Maintain streets, parking lots, walks, and install/maintain signs.
• Assist in delivering freight and log daily information; assist in office moves and event setups.
