The University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking an Athletics Facilities Event Coordinator I to support daily operations, management, and administration of athletic facilities and events on campus. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, Vocational Training or Apprenticeship in a related field.

  • This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

  • Handles facility operations and assets security in compliance with University and Athletics Department policies and procedures.
  • Provides early morning, evening, and weekend operations management and administration in conjunction with the Athletics Events Facilities Coordinator II.
  • Assists with event planning, coordinating services for events, along with event set-ups and teardowns.
  • Assists in the training and supervision of facility managers and event staff.
  • Schedules event staffing for assigned events, ensures staff are trained, and processes invoices for service providers.
  • Communicates information regarding event procedures, regulations, and campus policies to customers and the university community.
  • Manages the security of Athletics facilities.
  • Provides assistance in the coordination and management of capital assets.
  • Assists in the coordination of the preparation of facility areas for external programs, University programs, Athletic Department events, and other activities inside the Athletics buildings.
  • Maintains relations with on- and off-campus departments and service providers.
  • Assists with the repair of equipment and facility maintenance as assigned.
  • Assists with budget tracking of maintenance and repair work orders and assists with budgeting for assigned responsibilities.
  • Assists with departmental projects, as assigned.
  • Provides problem-solving solutions during events.
  • Helps track facility trends and updates to best practices in event management.
  • Takes a proactive approach to assist co-workers in various tasks, to ensure safety.
  • Performs work tasks in a safe manner and in accordance with work instructions.
  • Proactively makes recommendations to improve safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent written and oral skills and the ability to work withvarious groups.
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware and Microsoft Word, Excel, andOutlook software, point of sale terminal, audio/visual equipment toinclude building-wide sound system, DVD player, audio and videotapes & CDs.
  • Ability to work with equipment and perform these tasks,including but not limited to: audio/visual equipment, lightmaintenance, climb ladder, assist with event set-up of tables,chairs, stage, and sound, and rearrange fitness equipment.
Working Conditions
  • Work will be conducted in the office and on indoor and outdoorplaying courts and fields. May involve work as a member of theskeleton crew during University holidays. Occasional after-hoursand weekend work, as well as overtime, may be required.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work with equipment and perform these tasks,including but not limited to audio/visual equipment, lightmaintenance, climbing ladders, assisting with event set-up oftables, chairs, stage, and sound, and rearranging fitnessequipment.

This position will work primarily on campus.Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
