Job summary

The Bay Club Company in Redwood City, CA is seeking an Athletic Director to lead youth sports programs, childcare, and Kidspace, developing staff and ensuring high-quality experiences for members. You will oversee safety, program operations, staffing, marketing plans, and financial performance, collaborating with senior leadership to deliver engaging activities while upholding TBCC values.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience in sports programming.
  • Experience with children in educational or recreational settings preferred.
  • Able to develop and implement youth and adult sports programs.
  • Professional, friendly customer service attitude and abilities.
  • Strong written communication and ability to convey ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate sports and youth programs.
  • Ensure safety and security through monitoring of facilities, equipment and operational systems.
  • Regular inspections of the sports areas to ensure a clean, organized, safe, and well-maintained facility; coordinate repairs and maintenance of sports related equipment.
  • Manage all athletic programs that utilize the Gymnasium, including basketball leagues, camps and clinics, volleyball programming, badminton programming, and specialty fitness programming.
  • Develop and manage a marketing and communication plan for each program, based on target demographic, brand standards and financial goals
  • Purchase needed supplies and equipment, based on program needs and expense budget.
  • Anticipate staffing needs when building program plans; recruit, train and supervise staff so programs are executed safely and successfully while exceeding customer and club expectations.
  • Manage financial performance of the Sports program through achievement of sales and revenue targets, expense management, proper planning and forecasting, and retention.
  • Track, report and analyze the details of financial operation.
  • Prepare and implement action plans to meet or exceed monthly financial goals.
  • Review applicable financial statements and reports.
  • Contribute to an Engaging Team Experience
  • Understand and embody the Actions We Live By.
  • Be open to performance feedback.
  • Work closely with team members to create cohesive team environment, promoting teamwork and high staff morale.
  • Support other team members when critical needs arise.

Job description

The Athletic Director is responsible for the financial success of our Youth Sports programs, Childcare, and Kidspace through the on-going creation and/or development of staff, programs and services. This position provides leadership to Associates to ensure the delivery of professional, high-quality, programs to our membership. This position will require an extensive knowledge of sports programming, age-appropriate instruction, as well as a talent for engaging participants in activities that support their overall physical and mental health.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum of two years of experience in sports programming
  • Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting preferred
  • Ability to create and implement innovative youth and adult sports programs

  • Ability to read, understand and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand
