Job summary

The Bay Club Company is seeking a Basketball Instructor to deliver developmental youth basketball programs, ensuring high-quality experiences for members. You will use age-appropriate coaching techniques, maintain safety standards, and foster a positive, engaging environment across multiple age groups.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of basketball coaching experience.
  • Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting preferred.
  • Ability to create and implement innovative youth sport or fitness program lesson plans.
  • Passion for youth development and experience working with youth between 4-18 yrs.
  • Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities.
  • Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player.
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and willing to acquire new skills.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Youth Basketball Programs: Create engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for a variety of age groups; provide support to ensure every participant is engaged and successful; extensive knowledge of age-appropriate sports coaching and instructional techniques; be flexible and forward-thinking, always have a backup plan and be ready to execute.
  • Contribute to an Engaging Team Experience: Understand and live the Bay Club Actions We Live By; be open to performance feedback; work closely with team members to create a cohesive team environment, promoting teamwork and high staff morale; support other team members when critical needs arise, if needed; execute any additional duties as assigned by the pavilion Director and/or Leadership staff.
  • Foster a Safe and Productive Environment: Practice excellent group control and effective communication to ensure participants learn skills correctly and prevent injury; use age-appropriate behavior techniques to ensure an emotionally healthy experience; execute programming to develop ancillary skills including social emotional competency, self-care and character-building components; engage in and model positive adult-child interactions between associates and children.
  • Communication & Relationships: Effectively and professionally interacts and communicates with senior management, managers, other Associates, vendors, members, staff, and guests; promote harmonious relations among members, staff, vendors, and the community at-large; communicate in a timely manner and follow up, as appropriate; active participation in required events, programs, meetings and trainings; promote TBCC mission and club brand.

Under the direction of the Pavilion Director, theBasketball Instructoris responsibleforproviding recreational experiences that enhanceourathletic programming. Thisindividual ensuresthe delivery of professional, high-qualityprograms to our members while always exceeding expectations. Thisposition will require an extensive knowledge ofrecreational basketball,age-appropriateinstruction,and effective group control,as well as a talent for engaging studentsin activities that support their overall physical and mental health.
