Responsibilities

  • Create and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate sports programs for adults and youth.
  • Ensure safety and security through monitoring of facilities, equipment, and operational systems.
  • Regular inspections of the sports areas to ensure a clean, organized, safe, and well maintained facility; coordinate repairs and maintenance of sports related equipment.
  • Manage all athletic programs that utilize the Gymnasium, including but not limited to, basketball leagues, camps and clinics, volleyball programming, badminton programming, and specialty fitness programming.
  • Develop and manage a marketing and communication plan for each program, based on target demographic, brand standards and financial goals.
  • Purchase needed supplies and equipment, based on program needs and expense budget.
  • Anticipate staffing needs when building program plans; recruit, train and supervise staff so programs are executed safely and successfully while exceeding customer and club expectations.

Primary Job Functions
Sports Program and Operations Management
  • Create and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate sports programs for adults and youth
  • Ensure safety and security through monitoring of facilities, equipment, and operational systems

Financial Accountability
  • Manage financial performance of the Sports program through achievement of sales and revenue targets, expense management, proper planning and forecasting, and retention
  • Track, report and analyze the details of financial operation
  • Prepare and implement action plans to meet or exceed monthly financial goals
  • Review applicable financial statements and reports

  • Ensure the TBCC mission and club brand is upheld in all aspects of club operations
  • Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow through and response

Skills & Knowledge
  • Minimum of two years of experience in sports programming
  • Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting preferred
  • Ability to create and implement innovative youth and adult sports programs
  • Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand
  • Ability to understand and communicate so others can understand ideas and information
  • Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and willing to acquire new skills
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to develop and maintain computer records in MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and other software required by TBCC and regulatory agencies

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements
  • This position deals with outside personnel such as members and clients on a regular basis with contact in various forms such as in person, phone and email.
  • The location of the position changes frequently from indoors to outdoors. However, extreme environmental conditions do not exist.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in work environment
  • It is sometimes necessary to deal with unpleasant or angry people with the need to problem solve difficult situations
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to climb or balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must occasionally sit for extended periods and regularly walk around the facility
  • Must occasionally talk and hear
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required, but not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays required
