Job summary

The University of Denver Athletics Advancement team is seeking an Assistant Director of Development to drive the athletics annual fund growth and leadership giving. You will manage a 100-200 donor portfolio, qualify new donors, and develop a pipeline for future major gifts across 18 varsity programs, capital projects, endowments and scholarships.

The role requires strong communication, persistence, and the ability to work with multi-channel outreach, travel, and evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 3 years of professional experience including at least 1 year of donor, constituent relations, or relationship-based sales experience.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to interact with donors with diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and cultivate donors and prospects.
• Manage a portfolio of 100-200 leadership annual giving and major gift-rated prospects.
• Solicit leadership annual gifts ranging from $1,000 to $49,999.
• Identify major and planned giving opportunities and coordinate with colleagues.
