Job summary

SVSU's Athletics Communications team seeks an Athletics Communications Manager to lead branding, media relations, and digital coverage for NCAA Division II programs. You will manage game-day operations, content creation, and social platforms to provide timely, accurate information across channels.

This role reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications, supervises student staff, and ensures compliance with NCAA rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, sport management, or related field.
• 1–3 years of professional or graduate-level experience in athletic communications.
• Experience with desktop publishing, design software, and web publishing platforms.
• Experience updating and maintaining an athletics website (PrestoSports, Sidearm, SID Help).
• Experience managing social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of the Athletic Communications department.
• Maintain SVSU Athletics website content and social media presence.
• Lead live game-day updates, graphics, and multimedia content.
• Produce game recaps, news releases,feature stories, and videos.
• Supervise student staff and coordinate game-day operations.
• Coordinate photography/videography and manage promotional materials.
• Ensure brand consistency and NCAA/GLIAC compliance.
