Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation and the Sports Medicine Manager, the Athletic Training Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the SMI outreach athletic training program .He/she is responsible for scheduling patients and staff, maintaining PI and safety policies, and orienting volunteers and new staff.Additionally, the Athletic Training Supervisor is responsible for direct patient care activities as a Certified Athletic Trainer (AT). The AT renders service or treatment under the direction of a physician including prevention, immediate care, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, rehabilitation and reconditioning, program discontinuation, administration and organization relating to athletic injury or illness.He/she coordinates Athletic Training coverage for community-based events. He/she is responsible for coverage and care of athletes as assigned by the Sports Medicine Institute Manager. He/she participates in community presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested by the manager or director.

Minimum Requirements

Education

·BS in Athletic Training or related field

Experience

·Two (2) years clinical experience, one (1) year supervisory experience

Licenses/Registrations/ Certifications

·SC Athletic Training License

·BOC Certification

·CPR-AHA BLS
