Job summary

Cognito Systems, a PSI joint venture, seeks a Lead Athletic Trainer to join the Army’s H2F program at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, WA. The role demands leadership in injury care, performance optimization, and interdisciplinary collaboration with Brigade teams.

The candidate will coordinate training programs, educate personnel, and contribute to program reviews while ensuring compliance and documentation across the AT scope of practice.

Qualifications

• CAATE-accredited program degree required.
• Master's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Sports Medicine.
• BOC certification and active state license/registration.
• Five years of athletic training experience.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Background check and immunizations must be current.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Brigade Lead Athletic Trainer and advisor on injury control and performance optimization.
• Coordinate with H2F team and Brigade leadership to support training programs.
• Educate Soldiers and leadership within AT scope aligned with training calendar.
• Prepare AT overview brief for new Soldier processing.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment and tracking of supplies; report deficiencies.
• Attend meetings with Brigade leadership and H2F team.
• Prepare and submit reports to Brigade Program Director and Injury Control Director.
• Complete monthly status reports with recommendations and lessons learned.
• Maintain documentation and peer reviews timely.
• Participate in H2F program reviews to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.
