Job summary

Meritus Health seeks a Certified Athletic Trainer to serve Washington County Public Schools. You will provide direct athletic training services, collaborate with medical staff, and develop prevention and rehabilitation plans for student-athletes.

Qualifications

• BOC certification and MD licensure or license-eligible in Maryland.
• BLS (CPR) certification per Meritus policy.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred; new grads with BOC certification welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services for athletes in Washington County Public Schools.
• Collaborate with medical staff to review conditions and develop plans for prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation.
• Maintain records of injuries and write reports following company documentation protocols.
• Communicate progress to internal and external partners regarding continuum of care.
• Work in a fast-paced, hands-on sports environment with new daily challenges.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide athletic training services for athletes in Washington County Public Schools.
• Work alongside medical professionals, team personnel and athletes to review medical conditions of athletes and develop plans to meet athlete goals. This includes prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning; organization and administration; and professional responsibility.
• Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining accurate records of injuries and writing reports on injuries and treatment programs following company documentation protocols.
• Maintain communications with internal and external partners regarding the progress of the injured athlete as well as informing of Meritus services and locations for continuum of care.
• Work in a fast-paced, hands-on sports environment where every day brings a new challenge.

What You’ll Need:

• Education: Bachelor’s or master's degree graduate from an accredited CAATE program..
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred, but new graduates with BOC certification are welcome to apply!
• Licensure/Certification:
  • NATA BOC certified and licensed (or license-eligible) in Maryland.
  • BLS (CPR) certification per Meritus policy.
