Job summary

Independence Health System seeks an Athletic Trainer at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. You will provide athletic training services under physician direction for student athletes across various sports and events, ensuring injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities include clinical evaluation, immediate emergency care, and coordination with coaches, physicians, and families. Requires PA licensure, BOC certification, and CPR/AED.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related field (e.g., Exercise Science or Kinesiology).
• Completion of an Accredited Athletic Trainer Curriculum.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
• Strong ability to communicate complex topics to a wide and diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, manage, treat, rehabilitate and recondition athletes.
• Observe the domains of Athletic Training established by the BOC.
• Perform basic direct patient care activities in a physician office or therapy setting as assigned.
• Educate athletes/clients on injury prevention and wellness.
• Provide emergency care of traumatic injuries and emergencies.
• Develop and implement an Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
• Maintain medical records and comply with policies and procedures.
