Job summary

Athletic Trainer – Category: Rehabilitation services | Department: Rehab Services

Great opportunity to work with Parsons High School Athletes.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services to local athletes in a variety of settings.
• Facilitate training and injury prevention of area athletes as directed by the team physician (if available), via oral or written referral and/or in accordance with the Kansas state Athletic Training Practice Act.
• Coordinate community/school/workplace wellness endeavors within or outside of the Center of Rehabilitation Excellence (C.O.R.E.).
• Aid with fitness center oversight and management in facilitating wellness activities.
• Attend local sports events and provide basic trainer services at those events.
• Reports to the Rehabilitation Services Director and/or Sports Medicine Medical Director.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and be BOC certified, licensed, and registered in Kansas as an ATC.
• Certification: Basic life-saving certificate required; advanced life-saving certification preferred.
• Teamwork and independence: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision; able to follow instructions.
• Licensing/First Aid: Current certification in first aid and basic life support skills.
• General requirements: Knowledge of lifesaving techniques, ability to recognize hazardous situations, and ability to positively communicate with the public.
