A healthcare organization in Parsons, Kansas is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services to local athletes, facilitate training and injury prevention, and coordinate community wellness programs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, be BOC certified and licensed in Kansas as an ATC. This role requires effective teamwork skills, independence, and current certifications in first aid and basic life support.

Responsibilities
Provide athletic training services to local athletes in a variety of settings.
Facilitate training and injury prevention of area athletes as directed by the team physician (if available), via oral or written referral and/or in accordance with the Kansas state Athletic Training Practice Act.
Coordinate community/school/workplace wellness endeavors within or outside of the Center of Rehabilitation Excellence (C.O.R.E.).
Aid with fitness center oversight and management in facilitating wellness activities.
Attend local sports events and provide basic trainer services at those events.
Reports to the Rehabilitation Services Director and/or Sports Medicine Medical Director.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and be BOC certified, licensed, and registered in Kansas as an ATC.
Teamwork and independence: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision; able to follow instructions.
Licensing/First Aid: Current certification in first aid and basic life support skills.
General requirements: Knowledge of lifesaving techniques, ability to recognize hazardous situations, and ability to positively communicate with the public.
