Job summary

Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri seeks a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and follow-up for student-athletes, with on-site coverage during events and on-call weekends. You will work under physician direction, document care, and collaborate with coaches and therapists to return athletes to competition safely.

Licensure in Kansas or applicable state is required at hire, with preference for a Master's degree.

Qualifications

• Licensed athletic trainer in Kansas or applicable state.
• Active athletic trainer license required at start of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in athletic training; master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient care as directed by physician for athlete-patients.
• Independently assess athletes to determine appropriate care or referral.
• Provide rehabilitation and athletic injury coverage for area schools.
• Deliver treatment under direction of evaluating therapist to meet goals.

About Us - Sports Medicine

Our team provides athletic injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and follow-up evaluations tailored to your needs. From diagnosis to treatment, through rehabilitation and recovery, our team gets you back in the game. Actively involved in the community, our athletic trainers perform on-site injury assessment and treatment during athletic events. Because injuries don't always occur during regular business hours, we have a certified athletic trainer on-call every weekend.

What You’ll Do

Performs and documents as directed by physician for patients classified as athletes according to state licensure act. Independently assesses patients/athletes to determine appropriate athletic injury care or referral to physician for evaluation. Provides rehabilitation and athletic injury coverage for area schools. In clinical setting, delivers treatment under direction of evaluating therapist to meet stated goals.

Requirements

• Kansas Athletic Trainer License
• Upon hire, must have Athletic Trainer license for the state in which they are practicing.
  
  

Preferred Requirements

Master's degree is preferred but will accept Bachelor's degree. Preferred two years of working experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer. New graduates are considered with active certification or licensure.
