Job summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking an Athletic Trainer – Performance Testing Specialist to perform objective strength, movement, and functional assessments using approved testing technologies. You will analyze data to identify impairments and provide evidence-based recommendations to patients and care teams.

Role emphasizes rehab progression, return-to-sport decisions, and collaboration with physicians, therapists, trainers, and performance staff.

Qualifications

• Certified Athletic Trainer or related field required.
• ATC certification preferred; NATA BOC preferred or related certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire.
• 1+ years’ experience in Athletic Training preferred.
• Experience performing biomechanical assessments, movement analysis, strength testing, or sports performance services preferred.
• Experience utilizing objective testing technologies such as Biodex, force plates, motion capture systems or wearables preferred.
• Strong understanding of biomechanics, human movement, musculoskeletal rehab, and sports performance principles.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and communicate objective performance data.
• Ability to educate patients, athletes, providers, and rehab professionals.

Responsibilities

• Performs objective strength, movement and functional performance assessments with approved testing technologies.
• Analyzes movement patterns to identify impairments and improvement opportunities.
• Generates detailed reports and actionable recommendations for patients and staff.
• Supports rehab progression and return-to-sport decisions through objective testing.
• Participates in the Return-to-Sport/VBE initiatives to advance testing and movement analysis.
• Ensures testing supports clinical decision making and injury prevention.
• Assists with program development and growth; monitors outcomes and quality initiatives.
• Contributes to research and data collection for outcomes tracking.
• Provides education and mentorship to students, staff, and healthcare professionals.
