Athletic Training Services Role

1. Provide athletic training services to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral, in accordance with state athletic training practice act.
2. Assist in managing and marketing the Sports Medicine Program.
3. Meet professional, clinical, technical, communication, and documentation standards, making decisions based on established guidelines.
4. Maintain treatment orders and operating procedures, reviewed annually and approved by the team physician.
5. Communicate healthcare information clearly and professionally to athletic support staff and administration.
6. Provide services for all home and away athletic contests, including football games.
7. Act as liaison among family physicians, specialists, the school district, athletes, and parents.
8. Keep accurate records of injuries, treatments, and insurance claims.
9. Ensure timely, effective, and compliant athletic training services.
10. Evaluate program effectiveness and suggest updates.
11. Assist in budget planning for equipment and supplies.
12. Participate in pre-participation physicals and maintain athlete eligibility lists.
13. Educate athletes and families on health topics and coach/school official training on injury management.
14. Complete professional and technical requirements, including continuing education and licensure renewals.
15. Maintain confidentiality and comply with safety policies.
16. Uphold Service Excellence Standards and engage in Performance Improvement initiatives.
17. Use resources efficiently, maintain awareness of the department budget, and serve as a professional role model.
