Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group seeks a dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our outpatient care team in Michigan. You will develop, implement and maintain comprehensive health care programs for patients, clients and athletes, focusing on injury prevention, clinical evaluation and rehabilitation.

The role includes wound management, crutch and brace fitting, education for patients and families, and documenting orders in the electronic medical record under a physician's direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field required (Masters preferred for 2020 and later)
• Current State of Michigan Athletic Trainer License required; NATA BOC certification preferred
• Valid American Heart Association CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical evaluation and assessment of an individual for an injury or illness.
• Assists clinical staff with the operation of the clinic.
• Reviews patients’ medical histories and applied them in evaluation, assessment and processes.
• Provides wound management
• Applied appropriate crutch and brace fitting, cast, and splinting.
• Provides patient/family education as directed by healthcare provider.
• Directly enters medication, laboratory and radiology orders into the electronic medical record per guidelines.
• Assists with ongoing training of existing orthopaedic clinical staff.
