Job summary
Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our outpatient care team. You will develop, implement and maintain comprehensive health care programs for patients, clients and athletes, focusing on prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation under physician direction.
The role requires a Bachelor’s (or Master’s if applicable by date), Michigan licensure, CPR, and ideally NATA BOC certification.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field; master’s degree required if bachelor’s completed before 2020.
- Current State of Michigan Athletic Trainer License.
- NATA BOC Certification preferred.
- Valid American Heart Association CPR certification.
- One year of related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical evaluation and assessment for injury or illness.
- Assist clinical staff with clinic operations.
- Review patients’ histories and apply them in evaluation and processes.
- Provide wound management.
- Provide crutch and brace fitting, cast and splinting.
- Educate patients and families as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Enter medication, laboratory and radiology orders into the EMR per guidelines.
- Assist with ongoing training of orthopedic clinical staff.
