Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Athletic Trainer for on-site support of student athletes in Peabody, Danvers, Beverly, and Salem NH. You will deliver high-quality care, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and safe return-to-play guidance within a respected healthcare system.

The role blends clinical care with mentorship, event coverage, and collaboration with coaches, families, and other healthcare professionals. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or related field required.
  • State Athletic Trainer license required.
  • Driver's license preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification preferred.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training care for student athletes in accordance with applicable state practices.
  • Evaluate athletic injuries and develop appropriate plans of care.
  • Design and implement injury rehabilitation programs that support recovery and performance.
  • Assess athlete readiness and determine safe return-to-play participation.
  • Provide athletic training coverage for home and hosted contests as per guidelines.
  • Administer emergency care and first aid when needed.
  • Create and update injury reports and related documentation.
  • Ensure proper use and fit of equipment and maintain clinic operations.

What You'll Do
  • Provide athletic training care for student athletes in accordance with applicable state athletic training practices.
  • Evaluate athletic injuries and develop appropriate plans of care.
  • Design and implement injury rehabilitation programs that support recovery and performance.
  • Assess athlete readiness and help determine safe return-to-play participation.
  • Provide athletic training coverage for home and hosted contests as described by applicable program or association guidelines.
  • Administer emergency care and first aid when needed.
  • Create, maintain, and regularly update injury reports and related documentation.
  • Ensure proper use and fit of athletic equipment, including helmets, shoulder pads, braces, mouthpieces, tape, and wraps.
  • Maintain supplies, documentation, and the training environment to support effective and efficient clinic operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or a related field required; master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • State Athletic Trainer license required.
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification preferred.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer credential through the National Athletic Trainers' Association preferred.
  • Previous experience working as an Athletic Trainer preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, planning, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to adjust actions in relation to others and respond effectively in dynamic situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current Massachusetts driver's license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation required.
