Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin, Milwaukee, seeks an Athletic Trainer to support pediatric and adolescent patients in clinic and school-based settings within the Orthopedic Service Line.

You will cover medical events, evaluate patients, and develop individualized care plans while coordinating with physicians and teams to educate patients and families for the 6th–12th graders at University School of Milwaukee.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required; master’s degree preferred.
  • BOC Certification for Athletic Trainers required.
  • State of Wisconsin Athletic Training License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) required.
  • Experience or interest in working with pediatric or adolescent patients preferred.
  • Current CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers) required.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population and contribute to a culturally competent environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support pediatric and adolescent patients in clinic and school-based settings within the Orthopedic Service Line.
  • Provide medical event coverage, patient evaluation, and develop individualized care plans.

Full Benefits| Collaborative & Growth-Focused Environment The Athletic Trainer plays a key role within the Orthopedic Service Line, working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams to support pediatric and adolescent patients in clinic and the school-based community outreach settings. This role specifically focuses on medical event coverage, patient evaluation, development and communication of individualized care plans, care coordination with other healthcare providers and disciplines, and delivery of patient and family education in collaboration with our attending providers for the 6th - 12th graders at University School of Milwaukee.
