Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a qualified Assistant Athletic Trainer for Men's Basketball. In addition to Men's Basketball, this position will oversee athletic training for an additional sport as assigned within the 24-sport NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletics program.

The role supports prevention, evaluation, treatment, and care of athletic injuries, develops and administers sports medicine programs, and maintains records.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Graduate equivalent from a CAATE accredited athletic training education program; Master's preferred.
Preferred two years post degree experience under the direct supervision of an NATABOC certified athletic trainer in a collegiate or professional setting.
Experience in men's or women's basketball or other high-demand sport is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prevent, evaluate, treat, and care for athletic injuries across UC San Diego's intercollegiate program.
Develop and administer a comprehensive sports medicine program in collaboration with performance staff and physicians.
Communicate with coaches on injury status and ensure proper rehabilitation and return-to-sport procedures.
