Job summary

UC Santa Barbara is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer in the Athletics Department. This 100% full‑time role will supervise the Sports Medicine department and provide injury prevention and treatment services across all intercollegiate athletics.

Key duties include treatment of injuries, training room operations, and coordination with Student Health Services and team physicians; leadership of the internship program; and ongoing professional development within a tobacco-free university

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required; Collegiate Training Room experience preferred.
Professional certification in Athletic Training.
CPR/AED certification required.
Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

35% Treatment of injuries – prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and medical coordination.
25% Training room operations – records, inventory, infection control, compliance.
15% Coordination of services – pre-participation physicals, clinical appointments, status updates.
10% Athletic Training Internship Program – supervise interns, provide educational experiences.
15% Additional duties as assigned by athletics leadership and maintain certification.
