Cal State East Bay in East Bay is seeking an Athletic Trainer to develop, administer, and coordinate medical care for intercollegiate student-athletes. The role supports daily operation of the sports medicine facility and provides medical coverage for practices and games.

The position involves injury evaluations, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, scheduling, policy development, and collaboration with coaches, staff, and physicians.

Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of athletic training principles and injury management.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Equivalent to two years of experience as an athletic trainer.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in athletic training or related field.

Responsibilities

Provide medical coverage for intercollegiate practices and competitions.
Perform injury evaluations, treatment, and rehabilitation in consultation with the Head Athletic Trainer.
Develop injury prevention strategies and supervise conditioning programs.
Assist with sport coverage schedules and staff assignments.
Document injuries, maintain medical records, and coordinate referrals.
Coordinate pre-participation physicals and drug prevention/testing requirements.
