Job summary

California State University - East Bay is seeking an Athletic Trainer II to support intercollegiate sports health services. The role involves clinical coverage, injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation while assisting in scheduling and staffing for sports medicine clinics.

The position requires collaboration with the Head Athletic Trainer, travel with teams as needed, and maintaining required certifications. A bachelor’s degree in athletic training and BOC certification are required.

Qualifications

Knowledge of athletic training principles, injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation.
Ability to develop conditioning and rehabilitation programs and work with teams.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for work with athletes, coaches, staff, and medical professionals.
Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field and BOC certification.

Responsibilities

Support daily operation of the athletic training facility and provide medical coverage for practices and competitions.
Perform injury evaluations, administer treatment, and oversee rehabilitation/conditioning programs.
Coordinate with Head Athletic Trainer on staff assignments, sport coverage, and program budgets.
Maintain medical records, assist with referrals, and ensure regulatory compliance and safety.
