Job summary

California State University, Chico is seeking an athletic trainer to support 13 varsity teams. The role involves coverage in the athletic training room, practices, and competitions, plus developing treatment and rehab plans in line with best practices.

The incumbent will coordinate with senior staff to ensure comprehensive coverage while handling related administrative duties and staying compliant with CSU policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a certified Athletic Trainer in a high school or college environment.
• Possess current Board of Certification (BOC) certification for Athletic Trainer.
• Basic Life Support Instructor and Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage in the athletic training room, at team practices and competitions (home and away).
• Set up athletic training equipment on courts/fields and oversee water and post-practice care.
• Develop, design and implement injury treatment and rehabilitation plans.
• Coordinate with Head Athletic Trainer and other senior athletic trainers to ensure adequate coverage of all sports.
• Perform administrative tasks related to the position.
