Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks an Athletic Trainer to manage injuries within a school district’s athletic program. You will evaluate injuries, prepare athletes for practice, coordinate return-to-play with physicians and school staff, and assist with rehabilitation programs under supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining medical files, communicating with athletic directors and coaches, and ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
• Current state licensure as a certified Athletic Trainer or eligible or Temporary Practice Permit.
• NATA certification or Temporary license required.
• CPR – American Heart Association required.
• Experience with EMR systems and concussion baseline testing software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and manages injuries and determines whether a referral is necessary.
• Prepares athletes for practice or competition and maintains medical files.
• Coordinates communication with school staff, athletes, and parents about return-to-play, including concussion protocols.
• Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under physician supervision.
• Assists with facility cleaning and equipment organization.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Current state licensure as a certified Athletic Trainer or eligible

NATA certification or Temporary license
