Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services under physician direction for student athletes and refer/coordinate care as needed. The role includes direct patient care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation across school and collegiate settings.

The position emphasizes compliance with applicable laws, maintenance of medical records, and collaboration with coaches, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or higher in related field (e. Exercise Science or Kinesiology).
• Completion of an Accredited Athletic Trainer Curriculum.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, manage, treat, rehab and recondition athletes.
• Observe domains of Athletic Training established by the BOC.
• Perform basic direct patient care activities in a physician office or therapy setting.
• Injury/illness prevention and wellness protection; educate on prevention and conditioning.
• Clinical evaluations of medical conditions/disorders and injuries; document histories and exams.
