Qualifications

This role contributes to high-quality, athletic/patient-centered care by promoting safety, efficiency, and positive clinical outcomes within the healthcare team. The Athletic Trainer is an onsite position on the campus of BGSUEseential Functions* Perform detailed athlete/patient assessments by obtaining medical histories, conducting physical and functional evaluations, and documenting all clinical findings accurately in the clinical information system.* Provide athlete/patient education and instruction on preoperative preparation, postoperative protocols, wound care, mobility training, and rehabilitation exercises to promote optimal recovery and outcomes.* Remove and apply dressings, sutures, casts, and splints, fitting and instructing patients on durable medical equipment (DME) and assistive devices following aseptic technique and all physician orders.* Collaborate with the surgical and clinical team to coordinate care, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, manage referrals and scheduling, and support an athletic/patient-centered environment.* Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety. Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request.* May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.
