UHA University Health Associates in Morgantown, WV seeks a Lead Athletic Trainer to oversee athletic training services, supervise staff, and deliver prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation for intercollegiate athletes.

You will manage concussion protocols, return-to-play decisions, hydration and safety, share updates with physicians and coaches, and maintain compliant records in a dynamic athletic program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or Physiology required.
  • Current Licensure as required by state (OH/WV).
  • Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC).
  • Three years of athletic training experience.
  • Five years of athletic training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site injury prevention, taping, bracing and warm-up supervision for practices/games.
  • Respond to acute injuries and emergencies during practices and games.
  • Conduct injury evaluations, coordinate referrals, communicate with parents, coaches and physicians.
  • Manage concussion protocols and return-to-play progression.
  • Travel with teams as needed; work afternoons, evenings and weekends.
  • Perform musculoskeletal assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain detailed treatment records and ensure HIPAA/state compliance.

Track progress and adjust plans based on patient/athlete recovery status.11. Educate on injury prevention and safe return-to-activity protocols.12. Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records.13. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and organizational policies.14. Communicate regularly with medical professionals, coaches, parents, and/or patients.15. Serve as a resource for injury prevention and athletic health education.16. Determine fitness for participation pre-season and post-injury.17. Assist in the selection and fitting of protective equipment.18. Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room, equipment, and related implements.19. Acts as mentor for the athletic training group.20.
