Job summary

UNC Health Care System is seeking an Athletic Trainer to work as an embedded clinician in a physician extender role within the UNC Family Medicine Durham program. The role involves casting, patient education, and coordinating care for athletic injuries, with duties including taping, bracing, edema management, and reconditioning.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, ATC certification, NC licensure or eligibility within 6 months, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (appropriate discipline).
• Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification required.
• Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by NC Board or license eligible (within 6 months).
• BLS for healthcare providers required.

Responsibilities

• Casting and patient care including splints, bracing, DME, and patient education.
• Answering clinical phone calls and completing disability paperwork.
• Educate patients on home and therapeutic exercises; communicate with patients and staff.
