Overview

As an Onsite Athletic Trainer, you will promote health and wellbeing within an occupational medicine setting, focusing on exceptional patient care and injury prevention. The role involves case coordination, injury management, health promotion, emergency response, and facilitating return-to-work programs, often collaborating with the client’s Health and Safety Leader.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide first aid for musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal injuries as per Physician Standing Orders.
  2. Evaluate and refer injured employees for appropriate care.
  3. Respond to medical emergencies following established protocols.
  4. Assist in managing Workers' Compensation cases through documentation and follow-up.
  5. Coordinate with HR and management on return-to-work plans.
  6. Track injury statistics and communicate findings.
  7. Manage pre-employment testing and vision assessments.
  8. Implement injury prevention, ergonomic training, and job analysis programs.
  9. Develop job rotation and monitor compliance.
  10. Provide information on physical job requirements for various purposes.
  11. Implement rehabilitation programs, including therapeutic exercises and modalities.
  12. Use innovative solutions to improve workplace health.
  13. Administer drug and alcohol testing.
  14. Promote workplace health and wellbeing.
  15. Analyze data related to musculoskeletal disorders for cost management.
  16. Prepare reports on rehab utilization and financial impacts.
  17. Complete administrative documentation accurately and timely.
  18. Create a trusting environment that encourages injury and illness prevention.
  19. Communicate with safety personnel and participate in meetings.
  20. Contribute articles to newsletters and intranet as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from an accredited program.
  • Current NATA BOC Athletic Trainer certification.
  • Active state license if applicable.
  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
  • Clinical knowledge relevant to onsite athletic training.
  • Knowledge of kinesiology and ergonomic assessments.
