Job Title: Athletic Trainer
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing comprehensive athletic health care services to student‑athletes within the Accomack County Public School system. This includes injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and education. The athletic trainer works closely with coaches, administrators, and medical professionals to ensure the optimal health and well‑being of student‑athletes.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, meet the minimum qualifications, be a licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and have a valid driver's license.

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone; physical agility to lift to 50 pounds; and to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead. The Athletic Trainer must be able to lift and carry equipment, assist athletes with mobility, and respond to emergencies. The position requires standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
The athletic trainer must be able to work a flexible schedule, including being present for athletic events held in the afternoon and evenings. Additionally, the athletic trainer must be able to travel throughout Accomack County to attend athletic events.
