Under the general direction of the supervising physician, the athletic trainer delivers athletic training services to encompass the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions.
Athletictrainers (AT) are highly qualified, multi-skilled healthcare professionals who develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive healthcare programs for athletes and other patients.Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both.
