Description

Garrison Forest School is seeking an experienced professional for the full-time role of Athletic Trainer, starting July 2025. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions, in accordance with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association standards. The salary range is $50,000-$65,000, based on experience and education, with specific compensation discussed during hiring.

The Athletic Trainer will provide services to student-athletes under the supervision of a physician, complying with Maryland licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver athletic training services to Middle and Upper school athletes
• Ensure all participants have proper physical examinations and medical paperwork before participation
• Support health form compliance for all students school-wide
• Apply protective padding, bracing, and taping
• Communicate with parents about athlete care and treatment
• Serve as a liaison with the Boyce Center supporting the Wellness Initiative
• Monitor environmental conditions and advise on safety
• Maintain injury and treatment records confidentially
• Manage equipment and supplies inventory; provide annual budget proposals
• Assist with athletic uniform collection post-season
• Maintain certifications and licensure through continuing education

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
• Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Maryland
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications

Abilities/Skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a creative environment
• Physical ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift 26-50 lbs
• Proficiency in computer use, including Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar
