Under the direction of the Principal, Athletic Trainers will lead and administer the athletic training program in every high school to all student-athletes participating in all sports. The role will provide competitive and non-competitive season event coverage (e.g., games and practices). This includes the prevention, care, rehabilitation, education, and emergency management of injuries. The position will oversee the athletic training facilities and equipment to ensure safe and sanitary conditions in compliance with county, state, and national guidelines. The position will be responsible for facility planning. The position will act as a liaison between and establish effective communication and working relationships with coaches, school staff, student athletes, parents/guardians, physicians, and other community stakeholders. A secondary purpose includes coverage of county, conference and regional athletic events and other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the FCPS Athletic Program.
There will be approximately 35 hours of work per week with most work scheduled to begin after school hours. Athletic Trainers must be available to work flexible day/night schedules to cover practices and evening scheduled events. The hours will encompass MSDE/MPSSAA year-long approved activities including summer camps and conditioning programs.

Under the Fair Labor and Standards Act this position is exempt from overtime. Actual salary placement will be in accordance with the salary procedures of the Frederick County Public School System.
