Job summary

Job Description

The Forsyth R-III School District is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Athletic Trainer. This position will be the primary point of contact for the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for our student-athletes. This individual will work closely with coaches, parents, and physicians to ensure our student athletes are safe and healthy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Injury Management: Provide immediate on‑site care for acute injuries during practices and home games.
  • Preventative Care: Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including taping, bracing, and corrective exercise protocols.
  • Rehabilitation: Design and supervise individualized recovery plans for student-athletes returning from injury.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of injuries, treatments, and physician clearances in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA.
  • Education: Conduct workshops for students and coaches on hydration, nutrition, concussion awareness, and heat illness prevention.

Qualifications & Requirements include but are not limited by the following:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from an accredited CAATE program.
  • Certification: Current BOC Certification in good standing.
  • Licensure: Valid Missouri State License (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Certs: Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Schedule: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on the seasonal athletic schedule.
