Syracuse University seeks a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive care for Competitive Club Sport student-athletes, including prevention, evaluation, care and rehabilitation of injuries, and timely referral to physicians when appropriate. Pay Range

Pay Range $62,400 - $63,800

Pay rates at Syracuse University are based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, the job responsibilities; the candidate’s education, training, work experience and key competencies; the university’s strategic priorities; internal peer equity; applicable federal, state, local laws, grant funding and contractual requisites; and external market analyses.

Job Description

To provide quality comprehensive care for Competitive Club Sport students through prevention, evaluation, care and treatment of injuries and illnesses and assist with injury rehabilitation. Screening and referral of club sport participants to physicians at the Barnes Center when appropriate. Serve as the certified athletic trainer for Club Sports including practice and home game coverage. Compile and maintain injury and treatment documentation for Syracuse University medical staff. Assist with upkeep of the facilities, emergency equipment and modalities. Communicate with Competitive Club Sports staff on various issues, including student-athlete status, restrictions and treatment/rehabilitation appointment compliance.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in health related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association
  • Registered athletic trainer in the State of New York
  • CPR Certified
