How you’ll make an impact in this role
- Evaluate injuries and develop treatment and exercise plans within the scope of practice under the guidance of supervising team physician
- Implement individualized therapeutic interventions and establish exercise programs for specific needs
- Provide medical care and support to athletes during athletic practices and games, ensuring safety and quick intervention in emergencies.
- Assist in coordinating appointments, surgeries, and post operative care for athletes in conjunction with team physicians, surgeons, and physical therapists
- Supervise athletic training interns/students (must serve as Preceptor to athletic training students as assigned)
- Assist / Manage treatment scheduling, oversee medical records, maintain/update rehabilitation progress reports and record injuries and care delivered in the EMR System (ensure HIPAA/FERPA compliance)
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Licensed Athletic Trainer credentialed from the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
What additional preferences we're seeking
- Preferred Certifications: CSCS, CES, PES, FMS, EMT
- 1-2 Years of Experience Preferred (Soccer Ideal)
- Ability to keep departmental matters and health information confidential
- Ability to attend work consistently and maintain a regular work schedule
- Background or training in athletic training education, Kinesiology, or a related field
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn software associated with the needs of athletic training
