Job summary

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance (TOA) is the leading orthopedic surgery group in Tennessee with over 35 locations. We seek a Sports Performance Specialist to advance TOA's sport medicine impact and grow a dedicated performance program.

The role collaborates with nutrition, sports science, psychology, and group fitness resources while coordinating outreach, education, and return-to-play initiatives for diverse clients, from athletes to recreational exercisers.

Qualifications

• Completion of a BA/BS degree.
• Minimum one year of experience in the field of sports performance or personal training.
• NSCA - CSCS certification or eligible for exam with certification completion within 12 months of employment.
• Exemplary recognition as an expert in the sports performance field, with a history of impactful sports performance training.
• Experience with scheduling, planning, and managing individual and group exercise training sessions.
• Experience working with a broad range of age groups from school age to older adult.
• Knowledge of periodization for sports training and conditioning.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a multi-faceted service line focused on sports performance as a standalone offering and as a gateway to TOA services.
• Coordinate with community resources for nutrition, sports science, psychology, massage/recovery, and group fitness.
• Organize community outreach such as education, camps, and clinics.
• Establish community relationships with area sports leagues, coaches, and schools.
• Initiate community-wide presentations and social media/marketing in sports performance.
• Coordinate return-to-play programs for functional rehabilitation and work with group exercise and personal training.
