Job summary

American University is seeking an Athletic Operations Manager to oversee event setups and breakdowns for home athletic events and selected external events. You will coordinate with campus departments, manage student and part-time staff, and ensure facilities safety and readiness during events.

Required is a Bachelor's degree with 1–3 years in event operations, strong customer service, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Evening/weekend hours and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management or Event Management.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience in event operations and management.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate on-site event preparation for home athletic events and some external events.
• Manage home athletic events including setup, execution, and breakdown.
• Supervise part-time and student staff for daily facility maintenance and event tasks.
• Maintain facilities readiness and coordinate with Grounds Crew on field conditions and weather impacts.
