Job summary

Judson Independent School District seeks a Lead Groundskeeper for Athletic fields in the Maintenance department. You will supervise athletic grounds operations, ensure safe, neat, and attractive facilities, and coordinate day-to-day activities and inventories.

This role requires knowledge of athletic field maintenance, ability to operate mowers and tools, and experience supervising staff. Strong attention to safety is essential. 260+ workdays annually with variable hours.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record.
• Satisfactory fingerprinting background check.
• Knowledge of athletic field maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate riding or power mowers and hand tools.
• Ability to supervise personnel and coordinate grounds operations.
• Ability to read and interpret field layout dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates daily athletics grounds maintenance operations.
• Ensure grounds are safe, neat, and attractive.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities and oversee completion of work orders.
• Inspect grounds and facilities for repairs and upkeep.
• Establish watering, spraying, fertilizing, and care schedules.
• Maintain safety procedures and proper use of tools and equipment.
• Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel; maintain time logs and records.
• Extend work hours as needed to meet seasonal requirements.
