Job summary

City and County of Denver’s Parks and Recreation is seeking an Athletic Fields Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair athletic fields across Denver. The role focuses on field prep, infield care, and ensuring safe playing surfaces for all users.

Ideal candidates bring knowledge of field maintenance, turf management, and basic landscaping. The job involves painting, drainage work, and winter snow removal, with a schedule centered on early morning shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC certificate.
• One year of experience performing duties in construction, mechanical, or facility maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License required to drive in this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fields: drag infield, chalk to dimensions, water infield, set bases.
• Maintain fields: fill infield holes, add clay, inspect safety of ball fields.
• Paint athletic fields weekly and install/maintain field markings.
• Ensure drainage and repair uneven spots on grass surfaces.
• Perform snow removal as needed and handle physically demanding tasks.
