Job summary

City of Temple is seeking a Crew Leader II to supervise a ballfield maintenance crew and oversee athletic facilities. You will plan daily tasks, coordinate irrigation and turf care, and ensure safety and compliance across activities.

The role supports field maintenance during the playing season and collaborates with leagues and vendors. Strong supervisory experience with irrigation knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in ballfield maintenance, landscaping, irrigation, or related field.
• One (1) year of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
• Six (6) months of experience working with irrigation systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ballfield maintenance and supervise crew members to ensure proper upkeep of athletic facilities.
• Input maintenance items and repairs in Maintrac as needed.
• Manage turf care, watering, sod cutting, repairs, and field lining.
• Create water schedules and monthly irrigation inspections; report repairs.
• Ensure equipment and tools are routinely serviced and safe to operate.
• Coordinate with leagues and vendors for field use and supplies.
