Job summary

City of Temple, TX Foreman II – Maintenance oversees daily maintenance and operational integrity of park facilities. You will direct crews, perform hands-on maintenance, and manage personnel. Responsibilities include safety training, budget input, and coordinating event support.

The role requires high school diploma, several years in maintenance, and supervisory experience; preferred licenses include playground safety or irrigation credentials, plus CDL.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years in landscape maintenance, general maintenance, painting, welding, scheduling.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Preferred: Playground safety inspector or TCEQ irrigator license.
  • Valid CDL with appropriate city certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct crew members to maintain park structures, facilities and grounds.
  • Perform maintenance to keep parks safe, secure and well-kept.
  • Supervise personnel including hiring, training, timesheets and scheduling.
  • Enter work orders in MAINTRAC tracking system.
  • Inspect parks bi-weekly and schedule repairs accordingly.
  • Procure materials and manage purchases following city rules.
  • Approve purchases up to 1,000 dollars without supervisor approval.
  • Oversee Parks Division Safety Program and conduct safety training.
  • Assist in developing operating budgets and capital requests.
  • Support city and private events including setup and teardown.
