Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is seeking an Athletic Field Maintenance Technician to maintain athletic fields at multiple South Region parks. Responsibilities include mowing, aeration, fertilization, field lining, and cleaning facilities. Schedule generally weekday daytime hours with possible weekend shifts based on events.
Minimum one year of related experience, high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid NC/SC driver's license are required. CDL may be needed depending on location.

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is looking for an Athletic Field Maintenance Technician to join our team! This position will be based at various parks within our South Region and will perform day-to-day maintenance on our athletic fields, including mowing, aeration and fertilization as well as participate in field layout and lining duties. The incumbent will work closely with our athletics staff and be responsible for upkeep of our athletic facilities, ensuring they remain optimal sites for athletic events and activities. A typical schedule would be weekday daytime hours but may include occasional weekends depending on business need.
The South Region Maintenance & Operations Technician positions will cover parks and greenways located south of Interstate 85. A few of the parks within the South Region are McAlpine Creek Park, Park Road Park, Colonel Francis Beatty Park, Elon Park, and T.M. Winget Park. These parks and many other parks within the region host a multitude of events and activities that serve our community.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment
High School Diploma or equivalent
General knowledge of applicable computer programs
Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License and County Driving Privileges. Depending on area of assignment- may require Class A or Class B CDL
