Job summary

North Carolina State University seeks a Turf & Grounds Specialist to support the Athletics - Facilities Administration team in Raleigh. The role focuses on preparing athletic fields and facilities for practices, games and events, and performing routine maintenance on grounds equipment.

The ideal candidate brings a high school diploma or GED and experience with athletic field maintenance; a NC pesticide license and valid driver’s license are required within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience in athletic field maintenance preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare athletic fields and facilities for practices, games and events.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance on facilities equipment.
• Mow, fertilize, seed, sod, top dress, verti-cut, prune, grade and water fields.
• Adhere to safety guidelines; lift 30–60 pounds frequently and 90 pounds occasionally.
