Job summary

Musco Sports Lighting's Iowa Sports Turf division in Des Moines is seeking an Athletic Field Construction Operations Assistant to support construction, installation, and renovation of athletic surfaces.

You will operate and maintain construction equipment, read basic plans, load/unload materials, and work outdoors 50–60 hours per week with overtime per law. CDL training may be provided; travel is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Degrees in Turf Management, Horticulture, Construction or related fields preferred.
• Valid Driver License required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment, materials, and supplies safely and efficiently.
• Operate tractors, skid steers/track loaders, mini excavators and other construction equipment.
• Inspect, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Establish project layouts, grades, and elevations per plans and specs.
• Follow safety practices and company policies to protect people and property.
• Perform outdoor labor including heavy lifting (50+ lbs) as needed.
