Job description

POSITION: Athletic Director (Alexandria-Monroe Junior-Senior High School)

POSTING DATE: December 9, 2025

CONTRACT BEGINS: January 5, 2026

REQUIREMENTS:

• Indiana Teaching License in Administration and Supervision

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Successful experience with sports and Extra Curricular Administration

• Strong understanding of Sports Safety and Law, IHSAA Rules, and Facility Management

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer policies and procedures in compliance with the Indiana High School Athletic Association,

Federal, State and Local Board Policy

• Represents the school at athletic conference, county and state meetings

• Manages the use of the Jr. High/High School athletic facilities by scheduling team practices and athletic

contests

• Coordinates necessary supervision, associated workers, athletic trainers and security for athletic events

• Ensures athletic fields are regulation prepared for contests

• Organizes team practice and facility schedules

• Contracts officials for athletic contests

• Contracts athletic contests with other schools

• Maintains mini-buses and van schedules and ensures they are fueled and ready for use

• Maintains student eligibility records and award records

• Resolves conflict that may arise within the Athletic Department

• Supervise the acquisition, cleaning, repair and storage of athletic equipment inventory

• Manages the athletic department concession stand operations and vending machines

• Oversees the athletic budget, sports team accounts

• Secures athletic department sponsors and coordinates team fundraisers

• Provide/arrange for all required trainings for coaching staff

• Evaluate all coaching staff and make recommendations to the Principal, Superintendent and/or School
