Job summary

Clarke County School District is seeking an assistant coach to support the head coach in a high school athletics program. You will lead drills, reinforce techniques, monitor student-athletes, and model sportsmanship during practices and games.

Responsibilities include coordinating with parents and the athletic director, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety and compliance with district and state guidelines. A commitment to developing players academically and athletically is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well with student-athletes of various ability levels, basic knowledge of sport, willingness to learn and follow District and state rules and guidelines regarding high school sports.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with duties as assigned.
• Serve as a positive role model to players, parents, and the community.
• Teach sport techniques, rules, strategies and tactics.
• Condition athletes appropriately within guidelines for endurance, strength, and agility.
• Preside over team practices and games.
• Promote sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility.
• Monitor players and other coaches' conduct during games.
• Manage equipment and facilities responsibly.
• Report information to supervisor/Athletic Director.
• Follow local, district, state, and federal guidelines for working with students.
