Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools North Clayton Middle in Atlanta, GA seeks an Assistant Athletic Coach (Certified CCPS Employee) to support the Head Coach in delivering sports coaching to K-12 student-athletes. Responsibilities include practice supervision, equipment coordination, and participation in try-outs under Head Coach guidance.

Applicants must meet one of the two qualification pathways: a certified employee in teaching/administrative role or a certified paraprofessional with required

Qualifications

• Requires certified employee in teaching or administrative role.
• Certified paraprofessional with evidence of GHSA courses and First Aid; complete GHSA Head Coaching Class.
• Experience in coaching or playing the sport preferred; inventory and scheduling experience preferred.
• Strong time management, teamwork and communication skills.
• Analytical with emphasis on safety and injury prevention.
• Regular contact with internal/external personnel and decision-making responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and coaches K-12 students on fundamentals of sports.
• Collaborates with coaching staff to set rules and policies for the team.
• Assists with registration of athletes and equipment issuance.
• Coordinate try-outs, practice schedules, and supervision of athletes and teams.
• Encourage student athletes to pursue appropriate level of participation in sport(s).
• Work with staff to monitor delivery impact on healthy lifestyles.
